The Coach They'll Remember

Built for life, not just the season.

Kids forget most of the scores. They remember how their coach made them feel. This six-volume series helps coaches make that memory a good one.

See the Series Where to Start

Most coaching books teach the game. These teach the coach.

You know the drills. You know the rules. But nobody handed you a playbook for the kid who shuts down after one mistake. Or the parent waiting by your car. Or the moment you hear your own frustration come out louder than you meant.

Those moments shape athletes more than any practice plan. What you say, how you react, and who gets your attention all teach something.

The question is whether it's the lesson you meant to teach.

Written for every sideline

Volunteer and parent coaches

You said yes because someone had to. These books help you lead with confidence, even if you feel like "just a parent."

School and club coaches

You already know the sport. These books focus on the part that lasts longer than your win-loss record.

Athletic directors and leagues

Give your staff a shared language for coaching behavior. Each chapter works as a short staff-meeting discussion.

Every sport. Ages 4 to 18. Boys and girls.

Short chapters you can use this week

Every chapter follows the same pattern. You can read one before practice and use it that afternoon.

1
The Image. A single photo that holds the chapter's idea.
2
A real-life story. From the court, the field, the pool, and the rink.
3
The Hard Question. The one you'd rather skip.
4
A self-check. An honest look at what you're actually doing.
5
Take It to Practice. One concrete step for your next session.
6
What They'll Remember. The lesson your athletes may carry with them.

About the Author

Thirteen years on the sideline

Agenna Mathley coached youth volleyball for 13 years. She started as a volunteer at the YMCA, feeling like "just a mom." She went on to coach homeschool and club teams, from second graders to high schoolers.

Her coaching philosophy was simple: success is not on the scoreboard. Her players heard "No Blaming, No Complaining, No Excuses" at nearly every practice.

Today she is a Trauma-Informed Life and Mindset Coach, author, and speaker. She wrote this series for every coach who wants their influence to outlast the season.
